A Gift of Honey

This past week I looked in my mail to find a small box of liquid gold from my friends, Hannah and Mike, up in Chicago. They moved up there recently and Hannah started working at the Heritage Prairie Farm, which supplies some of the best restaurants in Chicago. The bonus for me? As a thank you for hosting him on a recent visit back, Hannah’s husband Mike sent down a box full of samples of every kind of honey they sell! Wonderful combinations of honey with cinnamon, cocoa, mint, lavender, rosemary and a beautifully simple raw honey are all adding a touch of luxury to some of my everyday snacks.

My current favorite is the cinnamon over yogurt, but I have a feeling the cocoa over ice cream may win out pretty soon. Alex is only too happy to help with the rankings…

It’s amazing what quality ingredients can do to elevate the simplest foods; finding the ones that do the work for you makes life so much easier! Isn’t it nice to have friends who give you a leg up in the kitchen?

I like your website, but I’ve been looking all over for the article on how to peel an onion. Can you please send me a link? Thanks!
